During our 2019/2020 project were planning to hold a number of outreach events at the Gatehouse to share our ideas with you about a proposed way forward for the building and offer the opportunity to gather feedback from the local community. However, the majority of our plans to hold ‘face-to-face’ events in 2020 are now unlikely to go ahead (see News). Instead, we are working with our delivery partners to find new ways of connecting with some of our audiences online:

Schools outreach – We are reworking our school’s workshops to provide two home schooling packs on the history of the Priory and its many centuries of Christianity, and the areas links to the Pilgrim Fathers a historic story with many modern echoes.

Business Community outreach – Working with the North Notts BID (Business Improvement District), our partners will offer an online opportunity for local businesses to connect and explore potential uses of the first floor of the gatehouse.

Church Community outreach – We aim to work with our partners to put together a short video to explain some of the proposals we wish to explore for a future use for the building. This will be circulated amongst the local church community with an opportunity to comment.

Local Residents outreach – We’re keen to explore some of the fascinating details of the site with local people to share some of the amazing people and stories from the Priory’s 600 year history. On 20th September we are offering a packed programme of virtual medieval experiences through our online medieval fayre. Please see the Events page for more details.
